Establishments engaged in the manufacturing, processing, packing or holding of food products for human and animal consumption.
All food facilities that manufacture, process, pack or hold food products for consumption in the United States are required to register with the FDA. Facilities outside of the United States must designate a single US Agent to complete the registration process and handle FDA communications.
Food facilities that manufacture, process or pack acidified foods (AF) or low acid canned foods (LACF) for consumption in the US are required to register with the FDA as a Food Canning Establishment (FCE) and submit process filings (SIDs) for each AF/LACF food in each container size.
